How we work

Most firms that come to us already know something isn't quite right.

A capable partner or manager who avoids certain conversations. A team member who has quietly disengaged. A talented person who leaves and nobody fully understands why. Or a relationship that has become difficult because people communicate, think or experience work differently.

These things rarely announce themselves. They build below the surface of a firm that genuinely believes it treats people fairly and leads people well.

The gap is rarely intention. It is what happens in the moment. The conversation that is avoided. The assumption that goes unnoticed. The decision that feels reasonable, but affects someone differently.

That's where our work begins.

Most leadership training addresses the wrong problem

It builds awareness. It explains why inclusion matters. It covers the theory of unconscious bias and the importance of psychological safety.

And then it ends. Leaders go back to their desks. The next difficult moment arrives. And nothing has changed - because knowing is not the same as doing.

We don't run awareness sessions. We don't deliver compliance briefings or policy reviews. That work has its place, but it is not what we do.

We work on behaviour. Specifically, what a leader does in the moment when it counts.

We call our approach the PRISM Lens

The idea is simple. Every leader sees the world through a prism - shaped by their background, identity, and experience. That prism isn't a flaw. It's human. But when it's the only lens being used to make decisions about people, to allocate work, to have difficult conversations, it limits both the leader and the people they manage.

The PRISM Lens is a practical framework for helping leaders see past their default perception - not in theory, but in the situations they actually face at work.

We work through realistic scenarios drawn from the legal workplaces. Leaders practise responding to difference, managing difficult conversations, and making decisions under pressure, in a safe environment where they can get it wrong, reflect, and try again.

They leave with specific behaviours, clearer language and practical actions they can use immediately. The emphasis is on what changes in practice, not simply what they know.

How we work with law firms

Training for teams

Practical, interactive training using realistic workplace situations to help people communicate, respond and work better across differences.

Leadership development for partners and managers

Deeper development for people responsible for leading others, combining practical training, real management challenges and coaching to strengthen day-to-day leadership behaviour.

How it's delivered

Sessions are delivered live, online or in person, and shaped around the needs of your firm.

The format and number of sessions depend on the people-management challenge you want to address. This may range from a focused team workshop to deeper development for partners and managers.

Where specialist insight adds value, including neurodiversity, disability or other areas of difference, this can be integrated through our associate network while remaining focused on practical leadership behaviour.

All programmes are CPD-accredited.

Who this is for

This work is designed for partners, managers and others responsible for leading people within law firms.

It is particularly well suited to firms where:

  • technically excellent lawyers have moved into people-management roles with limited formal development
  • managers are avoiding difficult or sensitive conversations
  • differences in communication, culture, generation, disability or neurodiversity are affecting how people work together
  • people issues are addressed only once they have become difficult
  • leaders want to create stronger working relationships without relying on generic inclusion training

Where we focus

We focus specifically on people leadership and management behaviour. We do not provide HR consultancy, employment law advice or operational and commercial strategy.

If you want your leaders to become more confident and effective at managing people across differences in real workplace situations, that is where we can help.

Let's talk about what is happening in your firm

A short conversation will help us understand the people-management challenge you are facing and whether training, leadership development or another approach would be most useful.
